Bars and pubs all over Brisbane and can be found on just about every corner. Sunday is one the most popular day with locals enjoying the afternoons often in pubs with beer gardens. Birdee Num Nums

A strange name for one of the best in Brisbane and a big night out venue that is very popular with students and backpackers. Outside is a large beer garden with pools, both types, ones that you hit balls on and the one you jump into. Brisbane Jazz Club

Easy to spot the white house by the river and run by volunteers dedicated to jazz music. 1 Annie Street, Kangaroo Point (07 3391 2006)

Downunder Bar

A wild backpacker and student pub with flags for all counties in the world. This is where you will find wet t shirt competitions, iron man challenges and other zany stuff. Beer is cheap and served in large quantities. 308 Edward Street, Brisbane (07 3002 5740)

For something a little less casual, the Regatta Hotel offers a beautiful venue to sip beer and mingle with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed but the establishment is elegantly decorated.
