Queensland Gallery of Modern Art

The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art is an institution that provides visual arts and modern exhibitions with a mission to connect the arts to people. The Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art are just 150 metres apart and reside on the southern bank of the Brisbane River.

Queensland Gallery of Modern

The gallery is open throughout the year but closed on all major holidays. Entrance to both buildings is located along Stanley Place. There is also a convenient access to the gallery along Melbourne Street. The short distance between the two buildings provide convenience to visitors who want to see both exhibitions but may be arriving on foot. The galleries are situated within walking distance to the South Bank Parklands and City Centre.

A gallery store that combines merchandise from both galleries is located onsite. Art books, souvenirs, jewellery and gift cards are available. The gallery is open during the same hours of operation that the galleries are open.

Several cafes are associated with the two galleries. The Watermall Café is located at the Queensland Art Gallery and the Foyer Bistro is found at the Gallery of Modern Art. The River Café is situated along the bank of the Brisbane River at the Gallery of Modern Art.
